The format is quite simple but exactly how we run it will be very dependent on how many teams we get signing up for the day.

It should be a fairly easy day for us all with games starting around 8:00am and hopefully finishing early afternoon. Cost will be $35 for everyone who plays with great prizes from Knobbys and Amazing You.

Start time will be 8:00am!

Ruler of the beach rules:

You enter as a team.

We start with 5 teams playing on each court. There is a Ruler End and a Challenger End. Points are only scored on the Ruler End. We play with 2 teams on the court (King/Queen and Challenger) and the other teams waiting in order to be the challenger team. The Challenge end is always the serving team. If you win the point you get to start the next point on the Ruler End and try to score points.

Each match consists of 3 rounds of 20/15/15 minutes with a 10min break between rounds.

Round 1 has 5 teams with the lowest placed team after 20 mins being eliminated for the next round.

Round 2 has 4 teams with the lowest placed team after 15mins being eliminated for the next round.

Round 3 has 3 teams and is completed after 15 minutes or when a team reaches 15 points.

Once we have the results of the first Match, we will gather the higher placed teams and lower placed teams onto their respective courts and do it all again and the winner of the final round get to take home all the biscuits and will be crowned King or Queen of the court!

We will endeavor to keep you all playing as much as possible, so if we can manage to make it happen, once you are out of a round, we will get you onto another court to keep playing.

The fine print:

1. The starting order for Round 1 will be determined by Rock/Paper/Scissors or drawing of cards.

2. The starting order for Rounds 2 & 3 will be the finishing order of the previous Round with the highest score starting as king/queen.

3. If there is a draw between teams at the end of the round. We will have a Golden point to decide the higher team, with a Rock/Paper/Scissors to determine serve/end choice.

4. Service errors do not count as a point except for in the last 2 minutes.

5. Either player can serve as often as they like.

6. We have 10 seconds between points so the referee’s decision is final and you need to run to get to the other end of the court to start the next point.

7. Current FIVB beach volleyball rules apply.
