• All competitors are required to read, understand, and accept the rules and conditions contained in this entry form and act in accordance with the DTBA code of conduct under which the tournament events are conducted.
• Competitors play at their own risk.

• Within each division, a player at the higher skill level cannot partner with another player of the same skill level. For example, in Division 1 (Levels 8 & 9), a level 9 player cannot partner with another level 9 player. Level 9 must partner with a level 8 (or lower) player. A level 8 player can either partner with a level 9 player or a level 8 (or lower) player to compete in Division 1.

• All preliminary rounds are played on a round-robin basis, with subsequent rounds played on a knockout basis.
• All games prior to the finals are played to 30 points, with teams changing sides when the score reaches 15.
• The finals will be played as the best of 3 games to a score of 21 for each game (no setting).
• A break of up to 2 minutes may be taken between games during the finals.

Start Times:
• The Round Robin matches will commence at 8:30 am sharp, with the first teams checked in no later than 8:15 am. There are no exceptions to this rule. If a competitor is late, their opponents may be awarded a walkover win and a score of 30-0.
• All players must report to the control desk 15 minutes before the start of their matches and must respond to calls when matches are scheduled for play.
• The Tournament Referee is authorized to disqualify players/teams who fail to respond to calls within 5 minutes for that particular round of the round-robin (but not for the whole tournament).
• The Tournament Referee may consult with the Tournament Committee before making a decision.

Umpiring:
• All competitors must umpire upon request and record scores accordingly via the OS app.
• Scores must be recorded at the end of each match (by the team captain) and confirmed by both teams via the OS app.

Attire:
• Proper sports attire appropriate for badminton must be worn at all times during the tournament.
• Tracksuits are not to be worn except for warm-up. Headgear such as caps, hats, and sunglasses is generally prohibited unless the competitor has valid religious or medical reasons. It is customary to seek clearance from the Tournament Committee, and/or Referee, and especially your opponent before the match or the tournament.

Injury:
• The Tournament Committee reserves the right to disallow injured players from continuing their games, depending on the severity of injuries including the extent of any bleeding or muscular pain (muscular cramps are not usually considered an injury), to allow for appropriate treatment.
• A medical timeout may be issued as appropriate by the Tournament Committee and/or the Tournament Referee.

Tournament Fees and Submission:
• The tournament fee is $25 per player per event.
• The nominated Team Captain will register Team via OS ($50 for team of 2) and invite partner to the team. Where one of the team members is a Junior member (between ages 12-18), please contact CSC for support.
• While players nominate the Event Grade they wish to compete in, the Tournament Committee reserves the right to accept, reject, or re-grade players to appropriately reflect the player’s level of badminton standards.
• Should there be insufficient entries for an event grade, the Tournament Committee reserves the right to cancel that event (and refund fees accordingly).
• No refunds will be provided after teams have been drawn and finalized.
• Withdrawal from the tournament may be considered for medical reasons (a medical certificate may be required), intractable personal issues, or extenuating circumstances beyond the control of the competitor.

Please note that these rules are subject to change at any time and at the discretion of the organisers (DTBA CSC), and it is essential to check with the tournament committee for any updates.
