Mondays at Mcgonigle Hall (Temple)

Reverse Coed Quads.

One male player can jump serve per set, and one male player can jump and attack behind the 10ft line per set. Min one male per roster.

This league is partnered with Temple Universities Volleyball Team, played Hosted at Temple University’s iconic McGonigle Hall and all proceeds from the league go to benefit the NCAA Women’s Volleyball Team at Temple.

This league offers an unbeatable opportunity to play in a great setting while supporting the the Women’s Volleyball Team.

This level is primarily for advanced players, seasoned athletes with strong volleyball skills and requires knowledge of competitive volleyball offenses and defenses. For those familiar with our organization, these are a mix of our A and AA-level players

Cost

TEAM FEE $430 (max 5 players, pay via opensports)
No Refs during the regular season (and no ref fees to keep the cost down a bit.) We will have a ref for playoffs.

Schedule:

Monday nights
Timeslots are 6:30pm, 7:30pm, 8:30pm and 9:30pm
8 WEEK REGULAR SEASON (min 7 games per team) + WEEK POSTSEASON
Top 8 teams make playoffs. Quarter finals will be the first week of the postseason, semis and finals will both play on the second week.

Weekly rundown

Every Monday evening, your team will play one of the four (4) matches scheduled, the earliest beginning at 6:30 pm. Assuming the schedule holds, the last match will start at 9:30 pm.

GAMES

All games will be played using Rally Scoring rules. There are no side-outs and matches will consist of three (3) games. Each game will count in the overall standings for the regular season.

Matches will be played within the allotted time (Penalties for every 10 minutes a team is past the scheduled start time.) All games are played to 25, win by two, cap 27. One time-out per game, per team, is allowed. If games are behind schedule, the 3rd game may be to 21.

PLAYOFFS

The top eight teams make playoffs. Quarterfinal and semifinal games will be the best 2 out of 3 to 25, win by two, with no cap. Finals will be played as the best 3 out of 5 to 25 in the first 4 games, win by two, no cap, the fifth game to 15, win by two, with no cap.

TEAM SIZE

Each team consists of 4 players on the court at one time. You may have up to 5 players on the roster. A lineup match must have minimum 3 players on the game.

SUBSTITUTIONS

Teams may find substitutions from anywhere the like during the regular season. In the postseason, any subs must have played with your team twice during the regular season and that sub may only play for a single team for the entire postseason.

FORFEITS

Teams will forfeit one game every 10 minutes past the designated start time that they do not have the legal number of players. If no players are present from a team by 15 minutes after the specified start time, the missing team will forfeit the entire match, and the team that is present will receive all three wins. Teams may play with a minimum of 3 players for a legal game.

Some important recent changes (as of the 2025-27 rulebook) to keep in mind:

  • The second contact may be doubled as long as the next contact is by a teammate (you cannot double the ball sending it over the net

Additional rules for Quads

  • No rotation required however you must serve in order
  • If a team is found to be out of serving order, they will lose the serve
  • Hand setting/pushing the ball over the net is NOT permitted
  • No open hand tips/dinks
  • No directional blocking (redirecting the ball with fingertip
    • You can deflect a ball in any direction with a firm hand or swat a ball downwards, but you cannot throw/swipe with your using your fingertips

Additional rules for Revco (Reverse Coed)

  • Women's Height Net
  • Men may not make contact with the ball to send it over the net from above the height of the net in front of the 10ft line
  • Only one male player can jump and attack the ball behind the 10ft line each set
  • Only one male player can jump serve each set (any serve in which both feet are off the ground when contacting the ball is considered a jump serve)
