Southern Crescent Wednesday Night Open League is a coed adult 5v5 soccer league played at the McDonough mini pitch. The league is Open to anyone 16 and up. The league acts as an ongoing fundraiser for Southern Crescent Soccer Foundation's after-school soccer program. Sign up as a team OR free agent.

Information:

-              6 guaranteed games per season (7 including championship)

-              5 weeks of regular season games followed by a 4-team playoff for week 6

-              Week 7 will only be for the championship game

-              Fees:

o   $500/team 

o   $65/free agent 

-              Games will consist of 2 20-minute halves

-              All games will have a referee

-              Teams will provide their own team colors/uniforms

-              All players must sign the waiver before playing

-              Only rostered players will be allowed to participate

-           Captains must input results of games

 

League Rules:

-              5v5 with a roster limit of 10 players/team 

-              NO sliding or slide tackles

-              NO punts or dropkicks. Goalkeeper throws are considered indirect. If a goalkeeper’s throw ends up in the back of the opposing net it will result in a goal kick for the opposing team

-              If the ball goes out of play, indirect kick-ins only (no throw-ins)

-              2 yards of space must be given to the kicker for all dead balls

- Penalty kicks will be awarded for fouls inside the box. Penalty kicks are taken 8 yards from goal.

-              Substitutions are made during a dead ball (goal kick, corner, kick-in, free kick)

-              The opposing team cannot make a substitution unless the team in possession makes a substitution during a dead ball 

-              If a player receives a yellow card, they must sit out for 2 minutes and that team must play down a player for those 2 minutes

-              If a player receives a red card, that play is not allowed to return to the field and the team must play down a player for the remainder of the game. The player that received the red card will be suspended for 1 game.

-              Teams will receive 3 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, and 0 points for a loss

-              League table tiebreakers are decided in the following order

o   League points

o   Head-to-head result

o   Goal difference

o   Most goals for

o Fewest goals against

o   Coin Toss
