SHADEHUNTERS UNITE - If this is a favourite session for you, be sure to check each week whether it is running at Nissan Arena, Hibiscus Stadium or Mt Gravatt Rec Hall. These are our three indoor venues, and the session location may change depending on venue availability.

Nissan – Join the Fun!

This session is for those players who are at the upper end of High Intermediate and is designed for these players already playing consistently in 3.5-3.99 tournaments and progressing toward or already playing in Advanced (4.0+) in tournament play.

Players in this session demonstrate:

• Strong anticipation and reading of play, responding early to the ball
• The ability to handle hard, fast shots and consistently return them into play
• Confidence defending for extended periods, resetting to neutral and transitioning back to attack
• The ability to change pace, slowing the game down or resetting under pressure
• Using placement and shot selection to create and win points
• A strong understanding of strategy, applied consistently throughout a game
• Consistent transition to and control at the non-volley zone, with effective partner movement and communication

Play reflects advanced-level expectations, with faster rallies, sustained pressure, and a focus on decision-making, patience, and point construction.

This is not a beginner or standard development session — players should already demonstrate these skills regularly in match play and be continuing to refine them under pressure.

If you are still building consistency with handling pace, defensive resets, or controlling play at the net, the High Intermediate session may be a better fit while these skills are developing.

Our hosts will run a variety of session types based on the participants who join. If needed, they will provide feedback to ensure the session is the right fit for you.

All players are expected to ensure that their behaviour at BPC sessions upholds the SPIRIT of Australian pickleball, and is aligned with the PA Code of Conduct policy.
