PICKLEBALL MANNINGHAM SUNDAY LEAGUES.

Novice League: For players with a DUPR score of 2.999 or less (including “NR”).

Key Details:

• Time: 7:30pm – 9:30pm.
• Start Date: Sunday, April 6 th .
• End Date: Sunday, May 11 th (excluding Easter Sunday, April 20th).
• Duration: 5 weeks (5 rounds).
• Location: Leeds Street Stadium.
• Cost: $35 for the season ($30 after $5 club discount).

Please note: for planning purposes that rounds WILL be played on Anzac Day weekend, during school
holidays and Mother’s Day weekend. This is a five-week commitment.

Eligibility
To participate in the leagues, you must:
• Be a financial member of the Manningham Pickleball Club.
• Commit to playing all five rounds and pay upfront.
• Be a regular social player.

• Register via Open Sport.

Each league will consist of six teams of four players, assigned by a Review Group made up of the
Administrator from each league, and PMC Committee members to ensure balanced teams.
Teams will play a round-robin format, with every team playing each other once over the season.

Match Format
• Each player will play 6 games per round (3 matches, partnering with each teammate once). A
• match consists of two games.
• Games will be played against similarly ranked players from the opposing team.
• The Administrator will submit scores to DUPR and maintain a weekly ladder.
Game Play
• Rally scoring to be used.
• Games to 15 with sudden death if score is 14 all.
• No Timeouts.
• No breaks between matches or games.
• The team that serves in the first game shall be receivers in the second game.
• Teams must change ends for the second game.
• Players can choose to swap serving sides for the second game if they want too.
• Be court side, warmed up and ready to play before the game prior to your scheduled match is complete.
• A three-minute warm-up is allowed for the first and second matches. Court One will be a spare court and is also available for warm-ups whilst other matches are underway.
• Time is of the essence. Completing 12 games per court in 2 hours may be a challenge. After the first session, the timing will be reviewed and the duration of the games may be reduced by decreasing the Rally Scoring down from 15 points for the next session if necessary.
• Players complete the score sheet at the end of their game. Captains of each team sign off and give the score sheet to the administrator at completion of matches. i.e. end of the night.
• Scoring and Awards
• Teams earn 1 point per game won. Percentages will also be tracked as follows: (Total points
• scored for / Total points scored against) × 100.
• At the end of the season, the top two teams will be declared winners and runners-up, with medals awarded to all players in those teams .
