🔥Fyreball+

Fyreball is Pickle Hub’s competition style play using a modified King of the Court format.

Why the plus? Because this session is for the top players in Brisbane. For Intermediate players, they attend the Fyreball session which is on at the same time as this session.

Players will play across multiple courts in a showdown to be crowned the Kings/Queens of the court aka the Head Gerkins. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to rise through the ranks and become the ultimate Head Gerkin! Out-pickle your opponents, out-dill your competition, and claim your spot as the Head Gerkin!

It's called Fyreball because the competition will be scorching hot. Loads of non-stop action, so bring your A-game because rest breaks may, or may not, be served up.

🤹 Skill level

This session is for Intermediate+, Advanced and Advanced+ pickleball players. Please ensure you meet the criteria below for this session. If you are an Intermediate player, book into the other Fyreball session at the same time and venue through Open Sports. This session is not suited for beginner or social level players.

Intermediate+: You have previously attended at least 10 Intermediate pickleball sessions, plus you meet the Intermediate level requirements. You can handle receiving fast balls, speed-ups and know how to reset. You are familiar with court positioning strategy, including knowing when the serving team should advance and knowing when to retreat to defend after a pop-up. You also have a soft game with drop shots and dinks.

Advanced: Rating 3.5-3.9 that can be verified in DUPR or Pickleball Brackets.

Advanced+: Rating 4.0-4.9 that can be verified in DUPR or Pickleball Brackets.

🏟️ Venue

Located in Wooloowin at the Shaw Park Tennis Centre. When you arrive at Shaw Park, drive through the sporting grounds past the rugby field and past the volleyball courts to the end of the road where you’ll find the tennis courts. Plenty of parking is available at the tennis courts.
