Beginner Social Play

This Beginners’ Social pickleball session is for players who are new to playing pickleball. In this session, you’ll be surrounded by people just like you who are new to pickleball.

You can rest assured that you’ll feel comfortable playing with players who are also new to the game of pickleball.

If you’re a little bit nervous about remembering all the rules or how to score - don’t worry, there will be people available to help you out. You’ll make new friends and most importantly, have lots of fun.

Your next Step after the Pickleball 101 Lesson

This Beginners’ Social play session is intended for people who have previously attended a Pickle Hub Introduction to Pickleball 101 lesson or who only just started playing pickleball.

If you haven’t played pickleball before, please attend one of the Pickle Hub Introduction to Pickleball sessions first.

What to Bring

• All equipment is provided, including paddles and balls
• Bring a water bottle
• Wear tennis shoes (or similar) with non-marking soles. No thongs or sandals.

Fair dink em' gameplay

At Pickle Hub, we believe that everyone deserves equal court time to play and have fun. Fair dink em’ gameplay means everyone gets the same amount of time on the court, rotating through partners and opponents. You'll get to meet new people and challenge yourself in new ways.

Games are timed and played using standard sideout scoring. This ensures that everyone gets to play a fair and equal amount of time.

Venue

Located at the QUT Kelvin Grove tennis courts which are on the corner of Herston Rd and Sports Lane. Parking is available in multiple locations. The most convenient is street parking along Herston Rd. If there are no parks along Herston Rd, then continue on to the Victoria Park car park which is then a walk along Herston Rd to the courts. There is also paid parking available in the QUT Sports Lane carpark which is directly opposite the courts.
