Sitting Volleyball brings adaptive athletes with physical impairments and able-bodied athletes together on a level playing field to play an action-filled and motion-filled sport without limiting anyone’s abilities.

OUR PARTNERS

We have partnered with the Pennsylvania Center for Adaptive Sports (PCAS) whose mission is to improve the health and well-being of people with disabilities through inclusive sport, wellness and recreation programs.

DETAILS

• What is sitting volleyball? Watch this video on YouTube.
• Sitting volleyball is played sitting on the ground; no equipment necessary. All traditional volleyball skills apply, and you will be introduced to the game when the event starts.
• Who can play? Everyone! In fact, we could really use your participation to ensure we can play 6v6, please consider playing.
• Sitting Volleyball is also great for injured standing volleyball players.

PARTICIPATION

• ℹ We recommend socks that cover your ankles and bottoms that allow you to slide around on your rear.
• Athletes should be able to reach overhead with one or both hands and sit on the floor, move, and balance with one or no hands
• ⚠️ Please RSVP or message me here if planning to attend as it helps show interest in the event thereby encouraging more signups. Number of players "going" does not accurately display participation level.
• Please share with anyone you think might be interested!

PCAS Requirements for Adaptive Athletes

  1. Sign the waiver and media release forms (waiverfile.com)
  2. Complete the athlete application (drive.google.com) and return it to Judy Morrison via email.
