Want to start running, but need some coaching and accountability? These Monday evening runs are the perfect place to start. The run leader will help you with your form and breathing to make sure you're running for enjoyment while preventing injury.

The pace is a 10.5-11 minute mile. The run is about 3 miles, but it will fly by with an awesome view and fun running mates. The small group size will make sure no one is left behind and we're helping you along every step of the way. We'll start and end with a stretch and for those who are interested, we'll do a workout circuit on the public fitness equipment in the park. The workout at the end is completely optional.

Run with us every Monday, or graduate on to the next level - either longer runs or faster runs. With our fitness group, you can find running mates by posting a starting location, time, pace, and distance so others can join you. Reach out to Lynn or Emily to find out more about being a run leader. Leaders are not expected to correct form or breathing, but should be reliable and motivating.

What to wear and how to prepare:
Wear comfortable fitness clothing and dress for the weather. Good running shoes are highly encouraged. If you don't have a pair, visit Fleet Feet or Road Runner Sports to get fitted for the right shoes for you. Bring a water bottle that you don't mind carrying during the run.

How to Find Us
We'll meet near the outdoor workout area near Tescler Playground (Lake Shore Drive and Barry). Note that this is the inner drive of Lake Shore Drive. Street parking is available, but may be tough to find. There is a Divvy station nearby.

First time working out in a while or have movement restrictions?
Just let the coach know at the beginning and we'll make sure we help you out. You're trying and that's great! We all started where you are starting and you'll improve in no time. As long as you have the drive, we'll help you stick with it!

Need to cancel? Please do so 2 or more hours before class time through your OpenSports account. If an emergency comes up less than 2 hours before class, please message us and we'll handle those cancelations on a case by case basis. The cancelation window is built so the coach has time to prepare for the run and also to hold you accountable. It also gives people on the waitlist a chance to get a spot with enough notice. Monthly members: While there is currently no penalty for canceling late or being a no-show, if you repeatedly abuse your membership privileges, we will have strong words with you and potentially revoke your membership.

Can't wait to have fun on a run with you!
