- Expanded 20 Team Cap
- 5 groups of 4 teams
- 4 games guaranteed per team
- Div 1 Finals (Seeds 1 - 12); Div 2 Finals (Seeds 13 - 20)
- Expanded Div 1 Finals (Round of 12, QF, SF & GF)
- Enhanced Div 1 Finals (Timeouts & Clock Stoppages)
β± Game Format
- 12-minute running clock
- Games start every 15 minutes (20 min buffer for Div 1 Finals)
- 1-point (inside arc) / 2-point (outside arc) scoring
Finals:
- If tied β first to 2 points wins

- $35 solo entry (weβll place you in a team)

With MLS Pick-Up continuing to build strong momentum at Kensington, the 3x3 Winter Open brings structured tournament play back to the court.
Expect fast-paced games, competitive matchups, and a full finals pathway across both divisions.

This event forms part of the 2026 MLS 3x3 Seasonal Series, with four tournaments across the year.
π Game Rules (Summary)
1. Game Duration
- Games consist of 12 minutes
- 3 minutes warm-up before each game
2. Scoring System
- 1 point (inside arc)
- 2 points (outside arc)
- Free throws = 1 point each
3. Restart After a Score
- After any made basket, the defending team inbounds at the top of the 3-point line
- A check must be made before play becomes live
4. Substitutions
- Subs can only occur after gaining possession following a made basket by the opponent
- Must call for the sub before the ball is checked in
5. Fouls & Free Throws
- Shooting fouls = 1 free throw (inside arc); 2 free throws (outside arc)
- On the last free throw attempt, if the free throw is made the defending team inbounds; if missed, play is live and the rebound is contested
- Non-shooting fouls β inbound from the top of the arc
- Offensive fouls β turnover, possession to opposition
- After a teamβs 5th foul in a game β fouls committed = 1 free throw (including non-shooting fouls). Shooting fouls outside the arc remain at 2 free throws.
- If a defender commits a shooting foul and the basket is made β basket counts + 1 bonus free throw
6. Game Clock
- Clock continues to run during free throws
- If time expires during free throws β players still complete attempts
- In Div 1 Finals, clock stoppages apply for fouls and free throws in the final 2 minutes.
7. Clearing the Ball (Change of Possession)
- After a defensive rebound or turnover, the ball must be cleared beyond the 3-point line
- The ball and one foot must clearly cross the arc
8. Offensive Rebounds
- No need to clear β play continues
9. Technical Fouls
- 1 free throw to the opposing team (any player)
- Possession retained at the top of the arc
10. Flagrant Fouls
- 2 free throws + possession to the fouled team
- Offending player is ejected for the remainder of the game
11. Standard Basketball Rules Apply
- Travelling, double dribble, carrying, offensive 3 seconds in the key, etc.
