We will paddle around Blackwell Island Recreation Site where the Spokane river starts at the end of lake Cd’A. The paddle will start on the Spokane river with a gentle current then through a slough around the island into the marina where Cedars floating restaurant is and then back down the river as we feel comfortable going and then return back to the boat launch. There is a six dollar fee to park at the launch. A PFD and whistle is required. Please have an emergency contact card in your PFD. Show up early enough to get unloaded and in the water at 6:00. Do not hesitate to join even if this is your fist time. It is the perfect setting to learn. If the wind is up at the lake we will turn back down the slough and find gentler water in the river.
