Managing frequent no-shows? The new No-Show feature helps you take control of attendance. Admins can now mark a player as a No-Show during check-in to indicate that they didn’t attend the event. This is especially useful for high-demand events with long waitlists; when players don’t cancel, it prevents others from getting the chance to play.
Why This Matters
When players don’t cancel, it prevents others from taking their spot, hurting the group experience and making things harder to manage.
How to use the No-Show feature within Events:
During check-in, select No-Show for any absent players.
Once marked, this status is stored in their activity log.
Restrict Repeat No-Shows from Registering
Instead of banning players who no-show, you can now set up temporary registration restrictions based on their recent attendance. Create a Member Rule to automatically block players from registering if they’ve been marked as a No-Show within a specific timeframe. This helps:
Promote accountability
Give players time to reflect on missed commitments
Keep them in the community instead of removing them completely
You can restrict their ability to register for events for a set number of days, allowing them to stay in the community while encouraging better attendance. Ex. Block players who were a no-show within the last 10 days
How to set up this Member Rule:
Go to your Group Profile > Dashboard > Settings
Click Member Rules > Create New Rule
Enter a Title (e.g., Has been an event no-show within the last 10 days)
Add an Error Message that will display when blocked (e.g., You’ve recently missed an event without cancelling. You’ll be able to register again 10 days after your most recent no-show.)
Click Add Condition
Choose Attendee Condition and configure the rule with the following:
Check-In Status: Click Specify Check-In Statuses and select No-Show
Activity Type: Choose Events, Programs, or Events & Programs, depending on what you want to apply this rule to
Required Tags: Add relevant event tags (e.g., Social Session) to target only certain types of events
Activity Start: Set to Is in the last and input the number of days (e.g., 7 for a one-week restriction)
Save the rule and apply it to any event you want to restrict based on attendance behavior.
Applying the Member Rule within Registration
Create or edit an existing event
Within Registration select Add Member Rule
Select the no-show member rule you created and click Save
Now, players who have recently no-showed will see a message when trying to register and won’t be able to join until the restriction period passes.
No-Show Feature within Leagues & Tournaments
The No-Show feature can also be applied to league and tournament matches. Whether players have joined as free agents or registered as part of a team, admins can mark individuals as No-Shows for any scheduled match using the same process.
This is especially useful for managing attendance in structured play formats where reliability is key. Just like with drop-in events, the No-Show status will be logged in the player’s activity history and can trigger any member rules you've set up.
This allows you to:
Track and address repeat absences across competitive formats
Apply restrictions to players who fail to show up for scheduled games
Ensure fairness and consistency across all types of participation
How to set up this Member Rule:
Go to your Group Profile > Dashboard > Settings
Click Member Rules > Create New Rule
Enter a Title (e.g., Has been a no-show to matches within the last 10 days)
Add an Error Message that will display when blocked (e.g., You’ve recently missed a match without cancelling. You’ll be able to register again 10 days after your most recent no-show.)
Click Add Condition
Choose Match Player Condition and configure the rule with the following:
Check-In Status: Click Specify Check-In Statuses and select No-Show
Required Tags: Add relevant league tags (e.g., Social League) to target only certain types of leagues or tournaments
Activity Start: Set to Is in the last and input the number of days (e.g., 7 for a one-week restriction)
Applying the Member Rule within Registration in Leagues & Tournaments
Create or edit existing league/tournament
Within Registration Options, select Add Member Rule located at the bottom.
- Select No-Show rule and click Save Registration.
No Need to Manually Track Dates
Once a player is marked as a No-Show, the system automatically enforces the restriction period based on your Member Rule. For example, if the rule blocks a player for 10 days, they’ll be able to register again starting on the 11th day, no need for admins to manually track dates.
By combining the No-Show check-in status with custom Member Rules, you empower your admins to run more accountable, respectful, and full events, without needing to remove players outright. This system enforces responsibility while still leaving room for second chances.
