Welcome to the Cessnock Pickleball Association. We are a community based, not-for-profit group enjoying and growing Pickleball in the Hunter Valley.

We are a new association and our sessions currently run out of the Greta Arts and Sports Community Hall.
Click on 'View Activities' to see our current sessions. As we are a new club these will be changed/added to as we evolve. Look out for 'Come and Try Sessions' coming soon if you have never played before and want to see what pickleball is all about.

We have 4 levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Intermediate Plus and Advanced. Please click on 'Contact Support' if you are unsure of your level. As a general rule Intermediate Plus and Advanced levels cater to tournament players and/or those with a DUPR (pickleball rating) over 3.5, while Intermediate level caters to experienced, proficient social players.

Everyone attending a session MUST book in and pay via Opensports. If you book in and cannot attend please remember to cancel your booking, if you cancel up to the day before you will recieve a credit. PLEASE be punctual to each session so that it can run smoothly, and help with the set-up and pack-up of nets is appreciated.

See announcement below re JOINING Cessnock Pickleball Association (compulsary after 5 non-member visits)

Thank you and happy Pickleballing!

Hunter Pickleball Inc. (HPI) was among the first local area associations to affiliate with PickleballNSW. Hunter Pickleball Inc. is a 'not-for-profit' organisation. It has been developing and promoting Pickleball in the Hunter Region of NSW since 2017. Through hard-work and a focus on members needs it is now able to provide a variety of venues across the cities of Newcastle and Lake Macquarie.

The Hub of Pickleball in the Hunter is at the Broadmeadow Basketball Stadium where there are 9 indoor courts, available for play on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. HPI also provides 8 indoor courts at the University of Newcastle Forum at the Callaghan Campus on Saturdays. We continue to play in Wickham at Hunter Badminton on Tuesdays and Fridays.

To ensure a variety of Pickleball experiences HPI has 4 outdoor courts at Marks Oval, Floraville with the capacity for expansion. We play on Tuesday nights, with come & try sessions on some Friday nights. Marks Oval courts are available most days and have lights for night time play. Hunter Pickleball administers these courts and they are open to all HPI members.
